The Diligence Analyst Opportunity:

Splash 4 Partners is looking for a Diligence Analyst to join its boutique management consultancy and diligence advisory practice.  This role is for an integral part of the engagement team and requires critical thinking about business models, drivers of competition, and the underlying fundamentals of valuing a business.  The Diligence Analyst is responsible for conducting secondary research on targeted industries, performing quantitative analysis that informs market sizing and growth estimates, and working closely with engagement team members to distill key insights into actionable client recommendations and reports.  The opportunity is a great fit for those with a passion for quantitative analysis, problem solving, and contributing to the investment diligence process. 

S4P works with private equity firms, middle market executives, specialty lenders, and family offices to make investment decisions, develop and execute growth strategies, identify acquisition targets, and enter new markets.  Firm engagements range from deep dive industry studies to long-term strategy creation for organizations.   The Diligence Analyst will be responsible for sourcing and aggregating publicly available datasets, scheduling and reconciling conflicting data points, analyzing company data, creating market sizing forecasts, synthesizing large amounts of secondary research, report production, and advising clients of key findings. 

Our engagement teams work closely to deliver high-touch services and actionable results to clients.  The firm operates with a relatively flat hierarchy, giving team members the ability to own sections of each project and further their professional development.  We operate under a principal of responsibility and ownership of one’s work.  The Diligence Analyst will collaborate with all members of the Splash 4 team but will work closely with the firm’s Diligence Managers.  The ideal candidate will be curious, self-motivated, derive satisfaction in doing an assignment with precision, and be driven to do the next assignment better. 

The Diligence Analyst is currently a remote position but with the expectation that the team will be back in an office setting in the firm’s Richmond, VA office sometime in 2022. We are looking for a disciplined individual focused on developing his/her career who wants to operate in a very team-oriented environment.

Skills (What you bring to the team):

  • Enjoys solving quantitative puzzles and is able to triangulate the answer when data is incomplete or incongruous  

  • Synthesizes in-depth secondary research with brevity and clarity  

  • Thinks critically about competitive dynamics and drivers of a business’s financial performance 

  • Communicates (both orally and in written form) with brevity and clarity 

  • Microsoft Excel / Power BI skills 

  • Naturally curious; asks good questions, challenges assertions, and defends positions 

  • Organized with a strong attention to detail 

  • Takes pride in one’s work, constantly improves their craft, and welcomes feedback as part of their pursuit of better 

Responsibilities (What you will be doing):

  • Research and synthesize publicly available data sources 

  • Analyze company provided data and determine appropriate next steps 

  • Schedule and reconcile conflicting data points 

  • Competitive research and analysis 

  • Develop forecast models 

  • Develop and present financial schedules and analyses 

  • Work across functional areas to support qualitative research efforts 

  • Assist in client report production
